On September 2, news came from Malaysia that four swimmers, Wang Bangyong, Fang Jinyu, Xia Bo and Dai Zheyao, participated in the cross-Malacca Strait in 2018. "The first time Suizhou people took part in the activities across the Strait of Malacca, they won the second and fourth place!" Wang Bangyong took 3 hours, 58 minutes, 54 seconds to successfully cross 10.02 km to win the second place, Fang Jinyu took 4 hours, 20 minutes and 18 seconds to successfully cross 10.18 km to win the fourth place. Crossing successfully!
Nearly ten thousand swimmers from China, the United States, Britain, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and other countries and regions participated in the event. Crossing activities are divided into two levels: the swimming group and the competitive group. There are more than 600 people in the competitive group, of whom more than 100 are from China.
When asked about Wang Bangyong's feelings about the crossing of the Strait of Malacca, he said, when I successfully crossed the Strait of Malacca 10.2 kilometers, arrived at the end of the body covered with the national flag, my inner pride came into being! The ocean currents, jellyfish, sharks and reefs along the way are really not easy. I tried to give up several times on the way, but I gritted my teeth and insisted that it was our first time to participate in the event. Fang Jinyu, too, spit three times in the sea, and finally persevered.
